Features and functionality
Tizio is one of the icons not only of Artemide production but of Italian design. Designed 50 years ago, it is still absolutely contemporary thanks to the updating of the low voltage halogen source with an integrated LED. It is a timeless product thanks to the intelligence with which it combines its elements and the elegance with which the talent of a master like Richard Sapper synthesizes it.

Materials and construction

Lamp with an articulation system always kept in balance by counterweights: thus the friction of the articulation points can be reduced to the point of only compensating for the production tolerances{ and thus the most complete mobility is guaranteed. To achieve this, any disturbance of the balance system must obviously be avoided: this excludes the cables for transmitting the current; but in a low voltage lamp the arms themselves offer themselves as conductors.
