Materials and construction

Pinecone is a suspension and table lamp characterized by a blown glass diffuser and available in the transparent, glossy or acid-etched milk white version. The diffuser is made using the ancient technique of cage-blown glass: the master glassmaker blows the glass bubble with his mouth inside a metal cage which only partially stops its natural expansion. In this way, the final artefact is partly held by the cage and partly escapes from it, creating a play of tensions that creates a floating object about to escape its constriction. The cage is also decorated with a galvanic treatment which reinforces the effect. The appearance makes it shiny and shiny. In particular, the transparent version allows the viewer to see a double structural level, multiplying the scenographic effect, and the metal basket net projects a kaleidoscopic play of shadows on the surrounding surfaces. The white version, on the contrary, gently follows the cage and highlights its geometries, creating an elegant and pleasant diffused light. Illuminated by a light source that the end user can choose, it is an extremely suggestive luminaire with a strong impact both when turned off and on.
