Features and functionality
The Oxford Chair was handmade for professors at St Catherine's College, Oxford University and designed by Arne Jacobsen. A symbol of prestige and status; the low back and smooth, curved shape of the veneer were crafted to invoke a sense of space and privacy. The design evolved over time into today's Oxford Classic.

Materials and construction
The low-back Oxford Classic 3191C retains the balanced visual harmony and authoritative expression of the original professor's chair with a tilting, height-adjustable seat and an aluminum swivel base with durable dual casters. The simple, rectangular shape of the original chair becomes a flexible office chair; mobile and extremely comfortable; a powerful addition to offices and workplaces.
